Our Story.
Working with volunteers is in our DNA. Amanda Rose has spent decades coordinating volunteers at grassroots fundraisers, in student groups, and through global campaigns like Twestival and Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day. She experienced firsthand what it was like to organize with tools that were not built for the job, and that is why she founded Timecounts in 2012.
As she met with organizers across festivals, schools, and nonprofits of every size, the same frustrations surfaced. Everyone was improvising, creating workarounds, or relying on clunky legacy software. We felt organizers deserved a better solution: something thoughtful, intuitive, and a joy to use.
From the beginning, Timecounts has been shaped by what we wanted ourselves when organizing. Listening closely to the people who use it guides how we design features and keep improving. Our support is human and responsive. We are here to answer questions, offer direction, and be a sounding board whenever you need someone who has done this before.
We remember what it felt like to be a small group with no budget, trying to pull people together any way we could. That experience stayed with us. Because a little help can mean everything when someone is on a mission, we offer a free plan to support organizers who are just starting out. And we keep our prices affordable for the same reason, to ensure Timecounts is accessible to everyone who organizes for good.
